Thankfully, there are some interesting options in the middle ground.

I agree that the Swiss Independents are catering to the growing group of UHNW collectors who are looking for the unexpected and spectacular, but at least non-Swiss entities are stepping into the gap between affordable microbrands and bespoke Independents.

That really is a beautiful and special Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel but it's not an Ultra thin watch now is it?.

I have one really big issue with it I just don't see or understand how a great maison such as Jaeger LeCoultre and with its long history of making not just watches but great movements as well could possibly dare call this or any watch that is 12.13mm thic
